PROOFREADING AND EDITING

Just as the name implies, the process of proofreading consists of comparing the Narrator’s speech to the text, whilst noting any other extraneous sounds, discrepancies, or deviations from the original script. This can include other details such as pronunciation checks, as well as general character voice consistency, all of which are annotated and summarized for correction. This attention to detail results in a professional and consistent project.

Audio editing employs a wide range of techniques to give your audio a polished finish within industry standard parameters. This includes manipulation of the EQ to give your voice the best sound and adjusting your room tone to eliminate background noise. As well as, the removal of any bumps, ticks, mouth clicks, obtrusive breaths or sharp “s” sounds, and other such noises (We do not remove all breaths, only those that are distracting or cut off).

This elimination of distracting background noise and repairing of missed or damaged sections of audio are just a few of the many different errors that can keep the final story from a smooth and refined narrative.

CONVERSION PACKAGES

We work with Northern Lake Audio to help guide authors through audiobook production. Our process is designed to guide the author entirely from start to finish so they never feel without support during the conversion process.

With all requests we offer individual project management of the authors unique work. This includes a tailored timeline, inhouse proofing, editing and mastering into complete files ready for upload to the clients desired distributor.

For the actual narration process, we offer two choices:

  1. If the Author wants to narrate the book themselves, we give equipment recommendations, assist them with booth set-up, and basic narration coaching. Additionally, we guide them through their equipment setup and punch and roll training, in conjunction with other informational resources.

  2. If the Author would like to work with a narrator other than themselves, we also have a repertoire of high-quality narrators which we can connect them with, and we aide them with this process as well.
